I have been a Senior Aviation Medical Examiner and a National Guard Master Flight Surgeon for 40 years. I was trained as an undergraduate engineer and also hold graduate degrees from M.I.T. and Harvard University. I am Board Certified in OB/GYN and Board Eligible in Aerospace Medicine.
I have been flying for more than 50 years and received the FAA Wright Brothers Award. I hold ATP single and multi engine land and sea and rotorcraft helicopter. I also hold Commercial rotorcraft gyroplane and glider.
My CFI certificates include airplane single and multi engine, rotorcraft, helicopter and gyroplane, glider and instrument airplane and helicopter. Type ratings include EMB 500, CE 501, CE 525 and SF 50.
We offer appointments for FAA Medical exams, Basic Med Exams, and also offer consultations for pilots with complex medical problems.
I grew up in Boston, attended the Winsor School where I sailed competitively and then to Dartmouth College where I studied engineering and sailing and skiing. I went to Medical School and Public Health School at the University of Michigan. I trained as a Urologist at the Brigham and did a Fellowship in Pelvic Floor Reconstructive Surgery which is my main area of clinical practice. I have been flying for my whole life. I soloed a glider at age 14, and airplane at age 16 and hold commercial airplane, seaplane, multi engine airplane and glider ratings.
I was trained as a US Army Flight Surgeon and as an Aviation Medical Examiner. I served in the Rhode Island National Guard as a flight surgeon.

If you are flying to Hanscom you can park at Signature Aviation and walk upstairs. If you park at Atlantic Aviation or Jet Aviation they will give you a ride to the office.

You must fill in your Med Express application before arriving for your appointment unless it is a consultation-only appointment.
Please print the FAA 8500 form, make certain that the confirmation number is visible, sign it and bring a copy to the office.
If you have an FAA Special Issuance or a Statement of Demonstrated Ability you must bring a copy to our office for your records.
If you are a Class 1 applicant and require an EKG, Donna will schedule your visit to Newton Wellesley Hospital prior to your examination.
We are required to test your urine for protein and glucose (sugar). We do not screen for drugs of any kind. Please drink some fluids before you arrive so that we can test your specimen.
If you wear glasses or contact lenses please bring them with you. We are required to test your vision in each eye without your contact lenses so it is best to arrive for your visit without wearing them. You may wear them after your uncorrected eye exam.
